Image Portfolio to represent your business – A branding photoshoot in Rayleigh with Sugar Lump Lane
Last month I went to the beautiful home of Marnie from Sugar Lump Lane to take pictures of her and the baking in action. The idea was to provide Marnie with a portfolio of images to use on her website and social media. Marnie was nervous at first, she didn’t know what to expect from this shoot, the majority of us aren’t necessarily used to posing for the camera. But it was a fun relaxed morning and an opportunity to get to know this lovely business a little bit more.
Let’s talk about images representing a business. Quite often we spend lots of time on content, updating our social media and ensuring we respond to emails in a timely manner but we find ourselves neglecting the quality of our images we put all over our website or our social media platforms. Yet they play a much more important role than any write up. Visuals are key to promote your business and showcase your products so let’s give them the time they deserve.
It is equally important to put a face – a friendly professional one preferably! – to the name behind the business, more so when you deal with clients directly.
For Marnie’s shoot, we thought would be ideal to show where her sweet delights are made. All the rooms are quirky and colourful, its a beautiful mix of retro, reclaimed furniture, antiques and modern pieces. Her kitchen is as pretty as it is functional. Her lounge is inviting and relaxing. Flowers are delicately scattered around the house just like they are on her cakes. With her signature red lippy on, Marnie was smiling as she got into her baking. There is no doubt she loves what she does.
Business and branding shoots are more affordable than you think. Not only you will get a library of images that you can use again and again but you will receive guidance on how to take better pictures. I work with several small and medium sized businesses on a regular basis. With seasonal products, it is handy to book your shoots few months or a year ahead but you can also book on an ad hoc basis. Packages are flexible and bespoke. From as little as £150 in the studio you can start building a portfolio of images. If you would like to find out more, I would be happy to help so get in touch.
